Izzy 4.0 A Rainbow

"When it's rainy and sunny a rainbow comes"..... I could not have explained it better.

Izzy 4.0 Dinner is served

Role play with some fine and gross motor skills. She also used verbal and non verbal communication when serving me, showing confidence and self esteem.

Izzy 4.0 Books in the Park

Thanks to my wonderful friend Smyth for introducing me to this amazing author 'Mo Willems' and his amazing books and please 'Dont let the Pigeon drive the bus'!!!

Izzy 4.0 Lock & Key

This activity had grown with Izzy, she is using some serious locks and keys now. These locks require the right key (control of error as there is only 1 key to fit the corresponding 1 lock). Hand eye coordination and strong muscles in the fingers, hands and wrists are needed.

Izzy 4.0 Africa

Our Continent choices definitely begin with an animal.... So a Giraffe means Africa...

Izzy 4.0 The i Pad

So my Nemesis...The I Pad, my heart says 'NO NO' but my head says 'In a controlled environment with non negotiable limits'.. So she gets 15 minutes using a fun app that has some developmental potential, be that fine motor skills, language and communication, social (with her sister) or emotional, or any of the other EYFS goals.

Izzy 4.0 "My Best Destiny"

I was sitting on the sofa when Izzy came and gave me a cuddle, after a few minutes she looked up and said "You are my best destiny".

Did she understand the words she had used?

I think she has heard these words spoken somewhere and understood them in the situation they were probably used in and then finding herself in a similar situation cuddling with me on the sofa used them appropriately and understood the meaning.

Izzy 4.0 Smoking!

Following on from her already healthy interest in 'Our Bodies' Izzy has discovered the skull "Is there a bone in your head?"
We were looking in her body book at an amazing skull when she noticed a large pink healthy lung accompanied by a picture of someone smoking with a black lung, I explained to her what the picture was showing and she nodded and walked off.
About 5 minutes later she went to her father (who smokes) and showing him the picture in her book said "If you smoke it make you sick, it make you lungs black".

Izzy 4.0 Puzzles

Giving her a visual and tactile sense of different shapes.

An all in one dressing frame and puzzle.

Izzy 4.0 The Gingerbread House

Hopefully no words are necessary.

Brighton Beach

Izzy 4.0 The Bike

Izzy 4.0 Using her Imagination

Izzy loved reading this book with her sisters, she then made herself a little bed to take a nap.

This is her sisters Playmobil Vet's office.

She cleaned it up ready for when her sister came home from school.

Izzy 4:0 Similar

The word of the month has to be 'similar', Izzy has total understanding of the word and uses it most days.
"Look mum they are similar"
"These dogs are similar".

Izzy 4:0 "I'm in Space"

Izzy is very interested in her 'Planet', she said "I'm in space".

This amazing book is called 'Children of the Sun' by John L'Hommedieu.
She opens it up and walks around to find her planet.

Izzy 4:0 Happy Birthday

Izzy 3:11 How many can you find?

Izzy 3:11 Fun with numbers up to 20

Mini number pegs up to 20.

Hand eye coordination, building strength in her pincer grip, order of numbers.

20 toy soldiers hidden in a box, how many can you find?

Izzy 3:11 Footprints

Izzy is very interested in Footprints.

We found some mud in the park and Izzy recognised Dog prints.

We also made our own.

Izzy 3:11 Letters

Izzy has turned into the Rhyming Queen, her sister wrote the words she rhymed then she traced over them, even writing her own hat at the top.

I made her a Red Book like her sisters.

She copied the words her sister had wrote into her own book.

Happy Izzy with a balloon.
