Izzy 4.1 Laying the table

Izzy spent about 20 minutes laying the table and then tidying away, she kept repeating the exact same movements, following the same order.
She would correspond plate to cup, chair to setting.
Following Schemas of Transporting, Ordering and correspondence.

Montessori at the Childhood Museum

Very happy to see a few Maria Montessori activities at the museum.

Sach 11 Rei 9.4 Jacqueline Wilson

Jacqueline Wilson at the Museum of Childhood, Sach and Rei have enjoyed her books so much, it was fun to learn some more about her.

Izzy 4.1 The Childhood Museum

This is our first time to this museum, it is amazing and free, the children enjoyed the museum and the space it gives them to move easily around.

Rei 9.4 Spring Club

This is an extra curricular club in her school during holidays, they bring out the best in the children, creative and inspiring with outside time as well, Thanks to the amazing Marie.

Izzy 4.1 The Snake Family

Found from around the house, she made a snake family, a mum, dad and baby. Giving her a pretty grounded understanding of 'A Family'.

Izzy 4.1 On the water

This is the first time Izzy went on a Pedalo, she was with her sister, her best friend and the responsible adult 'wonderful Jackie'.
She loved it and to be with her friends made it more special.
She was fearless (bit to much sometimes), and seemed to understand that the boat moved when the pedals were turned.
Great life experience.

Izzy 4.1 Friends

Don't their faces just say it all.

Izzy 4.1 Life Cycles

So Spring time of course brings us life cycles, she has been enjoying the life cycle of the Ladybug and the Frog.
Will follow up with outside adventures and books.

Izzy 4.1 Tea Party

I enjoy watching and listening to Izzy and her sister Rei role playing, it is very different when Izzy plays alone.
As her big sister makes the decisions I can hear Izzy sometimes going along but sometimes rejecting her sisters ideas.
It is good to see her growing understanding of making her own decisions but also sharing ideas and turn taking if she wants to play together.

Izzy 4.1 Movable Alphabet

Izzy has been exploring sounds for a while and has become so aware of the written letter I decided to introduce her to the movable alphabet. She was very excited and told me she knew how to use it and proceeded to write her name. I will introduce it next time.

Izzy 4.1 Park Life

Izzy's older sister gave her a present of 'leaf shades'.
After school making Daisy Chains, 'children are the best teachers of children', vertical learning at it's best with ages 11, 9, 6 and 4.

Izzy 4.1 Coloring The Giraffe

I know there are those who insist children should not colour pre prepared colouring sheets but then how are we 'following the child'. Izzy asked me for a Giraffe to colour in and I gave her one!!
The concentration and hand eye coordination was a joy to watch. She used a photo of a Giraffe and her ability to see the colours was excellent, she even added her own trees and leaves.

Izzy 4.0 Sharing a Cupcake

"When I have a cupcake my only think I want to share with you".
Thank you Izzy for showing me what sharing means, it's not just about doing something nice but wanting to do it xxx
