2:7 How we work!!

| Because I have limited time with Izumi I always plan what work I want to do with her the week before, then I prepare the activities that are not on her shelf and lay them out the days that I am home....This gives her freedom of choice to use the activities on her shelves on the new ones I have set up around the room, It gives me the chance to see where her interests lie and then helps my planning for the next week!!! |

| Never underestimate a Box..Izumi used fine and gross motor skills when opening and carrying the box, she used her imagination and independence when choosing what the box was going to be!!! |

2 years 6 months..sand box
This container has a lid and we filled it with sand, then threw in some animals and Izzy loved it...she buries them in the sand and then digs them up....when she has finished we put the lid on ready for next time....nail box...
This is a seasonal activity than we can have lots of fun with...Biggest to Smallest, change the objects to animals and sort them into rows etc etc
One of Izzy's favourite things about this activity is that she can carry it around with her !!
2 years 6 months..Pouring
Izzy has such good control now when pouring with her jug, she has concentration and hand eye coordination........She is so happy to do this for herself giving her self esteem and confidence to try other new activities!!!

Izzy cooked our food and we sat at the table and to eat it....this kind of role play will help Izzy's vocabulary and she uses her fine and gross motor skills when handling the pans, cutlery and carrying the dishes....
2 years 6 mths Bike Time
Izzy was very happy to get a bike from her Daddy, they spent a long time adjusting it, she was so happy !!
The bike has no pedals so Izzy will learn balance and coordination while still being totally in control.....Saturday, September 8, 2012
