Izzy 3.0 Scooter & more
She moved skillfully backwards with the scooter,
We had talked about forgetting our gloves so not picking up snow with our hands,
she kicked out some snow instead of picking it up.

Izzy 3.0. 42 sounds of spoken English
I decided to check on how Izzy was doing with her sounds, mainly because she is bilingual English and Japanese and these two languages have different sounds.
I chose a quiet time and we sat down together and went through the sounds, we colored the paper in after just for the fun because 42 sounds is a lot and I wanted her to have fun as I got the information I needed.
I was very happy with the results, she knew a few sounds I though she did not have and the sounds she clearly did not have such as R, J, Z were clearly not there.
I will continue repeating back to her the sounds and words clearly without making her repeat them and making her aware of it.
She is doing well and is confident and happy playing and talking with other children which is great and at this age very important.

Izzy 3.0. Puzzles
Izzy had a visit yesterday from her friend 'Jack', they had lots of fun and he gave her a beautiful puzzle which she did as soon as he had left saying 'Jack is my friend'. Xx Thank you Jack and Jackie xx
Izzy 3.0. Shoe boats
Izzy using my new shoes as 'boats'. I am not sure about 'following the child' all the time. Their my New Shoes!!!!!
Izzy 3.0. Sandpaper Letters & Sandtray
Izzy loves using the sandbox, she knows the family letters such as M mummy, D daddy, I izzy and her siblings letters. Today we worked on the sound and she was able to write i into the sandtray. We have not worked with the letters much because she has not wanted to, so today was nice because she wanted to do her letter.
Izzy 3.0. What is missing game?
We had fun using three of the items from the I spy bag. We used Cat, Duck & Frog. Izzy picked the game up quickly and even sneaked two items into her pocket when it was my turn to guess. Cheeky!!
Izzy 3.0. Pink Tower
The pink tower is one of my favorite activities in a Montessori class. The simplicity and beauty of the tower put with the complexity and experience that the activity gives is amazing. Watching Izzy carry the tower one by one, being aware of size just by looking at the cubes, building the tower and my favorite part of realizing when a cube is in the wrong place and being able to correct it. Yeah!!!
Izzy 3.0 Dressing frames
We have not used these for a while and I was happy to see how confident she was and the hand eye coordination she used when closing the Button Frame was brilliant. She had definitely stepped up a level x

Izzy 3.0. Playing with friends & building a chick tower
Izzy had so much fun with her friends today, she hid them under baskets and had other friends rescue them and set them all ready for bed.
She also built a 'chick tower'......

Izzy 3.0 Positive language
I always try to give Izzy the words to express herself, a friend asked today how to get her 2 year old
to share.
Share is a big word and at this egocentric age it is very unlikely to happen, maybe if it is what the
child wanted to do anyway you might think the 2 year old is sharing.
I think that that 'taking turns' is a easier way, give the child the words:
'Me next' building up to 'Can I have it when you have finished please' for the child who wants something.
and
'Later' building up to 'You can have it when I have finished' for the child who has something other children want.
to share.

Izzy 3.0
Had a fun day with her friends. Lots of jumping and running, good to see her taking risks and building up her body strength through her gross motor skills.
Izzy 3.0. Easter activities
Izzy enjoyed sorting her Easter chicks into big and small, she then explored the materials and spent time playing with the chicks in role play and passing the chicks through a watch xx

Izzy 2:11 Cutting Daffodils
Waste not want not, and instead of the usual pressing or craft activity Izzy used her cutting skills.
It was interesting to hear her use Japanese and English words and by using the video I was able to hear the sounds she has that are clear and the sounds that we can work on more (in both languages).
